18 Blue - Julie Barnett - Julie has been coaching for the past 16 years with the Canby Volleyball Club. She does a fantastic job working with the girls, teaching them to be disciplined athletes while at the same time teaching them the love and joy of the game. Julie played high school volleyball in West Linn and went on to play in the Air Force for four years. Julie lives and works in Canby. She has shared her love and knowledge of the game with her three daughters, 2 of which have coached for our club in past seasons. (one played at CCC and the other was the head Varsity coach at Woodburn High School). Julie is a valued member of our coaching staff and we are excited to work with her this season.
16 Blue - Niki Umbenhower & Krysteena Brickley
16 White - Jamie Schuknecht - Jamie's volleyball career began in 5th grade when her parents asked if she wanted to play on a volleyball team and she responded "What's volleyball?" Her father's answer was to take her to an OSU volleyball game and she has been in love with the sport ever since. Jamie played four years at Canby High School (2 years on Varsity), 1 year with Country Jam Volleyball Club (now Canby Volleyball Club) and 4 years with Canby Volleyball Club. She played her freshman year of college at George Fox University, but switched to intramural teams after that so she could better focus on her studies. Jamie made the transition from player to coach last year, coaching the 16 Green team for CVC and found that coaching is just as much fun as playing. Jamie started coaching at Molalla High School this last season as the JV coach and also helps assist with their Varsity program.Whether as a spectator, player or coach, Jamie has a great passion for this game and is thrilled to be back at CVC for another great season!
16 Green - Maureen Mack - Maureen is from Salem Oregon. She graduated from Stayton High School where she played all four years. She also played for three years at Stayton Volleyball Club. Once graduated from high school she went on to attend college at the University of Oregon where she continued to play on several club teams throughout her college career. She has now graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Psychology. This is her first season coaching for our club.
14 Blue - Debbie Turrentine/Tamra Schelot -
Debbie is a long-time Canby resident and local business-owner. She has been with the Canby Volleyball Club, with her daughter, for the last six years. This is Debbie's 4th year as a Head Coach with Canby Volleyball Club. Debbie played volleyball in high school and continued to play recreationally. She has coached at the rec level as well as one year as the 12U head coach for Oregon City Volleyball Club. She coached our 12U team for 3 years, then moved on to assist the 14 Blue team last year. She is now also the Head Freshman Coach at Canby High School, assisting with Varsity as well. Her goal is to teach her team the fundamentals of the game, along with competitiveness, leadership, camaraderie and a genuine love of the game.
14 White - Danielle Perez
14 Green - TBA
12 Blue - Janin McGrath - This is Janin's first year coaching club volleyball. She just completed her first year as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Country Christian High School. Janin coached youth volleyball at Country Christian for 5 years prior to taking the varsity program, and high school basketball for 7 years. Janin played volleyball, basketball, and ran track for Nestucca Union High School, and played basketball for Linfield College.
